Kart Racing is what most urban folks know as Go Karts. The sport began back in 1956, thanks to the brilliant mind of Art Ingels. It began with an idea, to which was added a person of racing and of course the physical parts from Ingels’ garage, and thus the first kart was born. On a lovely Californian sunny day, Art Ingels went to try out his Go Kart on Rose Bowl parking lot in front of a huge Californian crowd.Californians are known for their zeal to try something new every time and it is from this zeal that the Go Kart craze was born. The first form of Kart Racing used race karts known as Shifter Karts.
The Shifter carts were popular in California before spreading to the rest of the United States. Today, the Go Kart is a sport found in almost all countries worldwide.
Kart racing is a popular sport for both kids and the grown up folks. Go Karts is no more just a sports thing. It has now been incorporated in fun fairs as objects of amusement.
Kids are the hugest fans of Kart Racing with some scooping huge medals and awards in successfully completing the race kart circuits.
As an amusement or a sport, Kart racing has been voted as one of the economical motor sports we have.
It has been approved by the CIK board as a sport safe to be played by kids as young as 8 years. In fact, Kart racing is one of the games that have been approved as safe for kids.
The shifter karts are no more today and in their place the Super Karts are what do the Kart circuits.
It is said that the average speed for a Super Kart is 160mph. But this one is meant for racing and you would get the fun-fare carts going at a lesser speed.
